The first Gallagher brothers to gain notoriety in the pop music scene, Mark (guitar) and John (bass/vocals) probably had no idea that their simple and genuine approach to heavy rock n roll would have contributed to sparking the so-called NWOBHM. From a similar background as Iron Maiden, Saxon and Def Leppard came this 1981 gem featuring 11 fast stop&go tunes for headbangers in sneakers and ripped denim to stage dive to. Initially inspired by boogie rock kings Status Quo – they had been together since 1974 – and later heavily influenced by Judas Priest, Raven are a classic HM trio (drummer Rob “Wacko” Hunter completes the line up). All substance and no frills for a quiet night in with lots of beer and heavy petting.
