When pianist Bill Evans arrived on the jazz scene in the late fifties, his unusually quiet and introspective style of playing made him an anomaly in his field. He has since become one of most influential jazz pianists of all time and is credited with having revolutionized the dynamics of the jazz trio. This unique album comes from a prolific period in Evans career and gives fans a glimpse at two significant Evans led trios. Side B was recorded in France in February 1965 and features Chuck Israel on bass and Larry Bunker on drums while Side A wasrecorded at the “Pescara Festival” in Italy in 1969 and features Eddie Gomez on bass and Marty Morell on drums.
