Head On is this trio s first step into the arms of NWOBHM. Dickinson s addition to the new line up of four brought a more defined personality and a cool breeze of sheer HM tunes which created a spin of great expectation for the press and helped define Paul Samson s guitar work as
“imaginative and immensely fluid” and Bruce Dickinson s voice as
“gut-busting”. Samson became one of the best HM combos of the new British wave and songs like “Hard Times”, “Vice Versa” and “Thunderburst” are now metal classics and worth being reissued for our recovery project on Earmark.
