JERRY MOORE
Life Is A Constant Journey Home
CD
UPC: 8013252406126
Detroit’s own poet Dudley Randall wrote his
Ballad Of Birmingham in 1963, after the Klan’s horrific bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama. Trained organist and guitar player / folksinger Jerry Moore asked Randall for permission to put the poem to music, and in 1967, under Randy Burns’ wing, he went from being an anonymous Greenwich Village artist and musician to recording this awesome tribute to a terrifying piece of African American and human history. He eventually went on to become a street preacher in South Central Los Angeles.
